Elena Márquez
Tracks entry rules and residence permits across 190+ jurisdictions.
Biography
Elena leads TravelOS's visa desk. She spent nine years processing residence and long-stay applications inside EU consular services before moving to policy research, where she built the monitoring workflow that TravelOS still uses to detect entry-rule changes within 48 hours of publication.
She reads primary sources only — consulate circulars, official government gazettes, IATA Timatic updates and EU regulation texts — and every visa figure on this site is traced back to one of them. When a rule is ambiguous in practice, Elena calls the consulate and records the answer with the date it was given.
Her focus areas are the Schengen 90/180 rule, ETIAS rollout, digital nomad visas in Southern Europe, and citizenship-dependent entry requirements.
