Mei Tanaka

Mei worked as a travel and medical claims adjuster for two international insurers, assessing more than 3,000 claims covering hospital treatment abroad, repatriation, cancellation and baggage loss. She knows precisely which wording gets a claim paid and which gets it declined.

At TravelOS she reviews every insurance and compensation guide before publication, checks policy limits and regulation references (EU261, the Montreal Convention, Schengen's €30,000 medical minimum) against the current legal text, and rewrites anything that could mislead a reader at the moment they need to file.

She is deliberately blunt about exclusions: pre-existing conditions, adventure sports, alcohol clauses and late-notification deadlines are the four reasons most claims fail.
