A 5-day Barcelona itinerary built around food — Boqueria, El Born tapas, Gracia vermouth bars, day-trip Penedès wine, with flight + hotel budget.
Where to stay
Eixample for first-timers (walkable, central). El Born for nightlife. Gracia for a local feel.
Day 1 — Gothic + tapas crawl
Gothic Quarter morning walk, La Boqueria for lunch (Bar Pinotxo), siesta. Tapas crawl: Quimet & Quimet → Bar del Pla → Cal Pep.
Day 2 — Gaudí + vermouth
Sagrada Familia (book 8am slot), Park Güell, Casa Batlló. Sunset vermouth in Gracia — Bodega Marin, Quimet.
Day 3 — Beach + paella + nightlife
Barceloneta morning, paella lunch at Can Solé. Afternoon at the beach. Bunkers del Carmel sunset. Razzmatazz or Apolo for late night.
Day 4 — Day trip: Penedès wine
Train to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, cava cellar tour at Recaredo or Gramona. Lunch at a masia. Back by 7pm.
Day 5 — Modernism + Michelin lunch
Hospital Sant Pau, Palau de la Música. Lunch at Disfrutar (book 3 months ahead). Last evening at Plaça Reial.
